2 Apple Tree Prunes from the other day.

Our client wanted to get more fruit from these trees which have been left for quite some time. We made some significant reduction cuts to allow for light penetration through to the lower branches for fruit production.

Alongside the reduction cuts we removed some major deadwood and diseased limbs. Leaving what looks to be a bare tree but rest assured, these Apples will flourish now that they are covered by a maintenance plan.

Large Tree Pruning & Maintenance project in Lethbridge with Reuben at @middel_tree_care

We started the day pruning a compromised Maple with many cracks and large pieces of deadwood posing a threat to the clients property and the neighbours. This works was inaccessible via a bucket truck and therefore required climbing and rigging to remove all the branches.

Then we turned our attention to a large Ash which had previously been pollarded and consequently left for a good amount of time causing a large sail effect of the canopy and poor structure throughout. Using climbing and rigging techniques, we safely completed the work which included thinning and reduction cuts. This left the client feeling more confident that the trees were much safer than before.

Apple Tree prune for fruit production in Lethbridge.

This Apple Tree had not been pruned for quite some time and our client wanted it reduced in size but to also allow for fruit production.

We reduced the height significantly and thinned the entire canopy to allow for light to penetrate through and promote healthy growth on the lower limbs where we want the fruit to develop.

Some selective pruning of this Large Cottonwood in Lethbridge.

We removed large limbs which were encroaching our clients pool and blocking the afternoon sun in the summer months.

This tree could not be accessed using a bucket truck, so our climbing skills were required to tackle this project.

A care plan has been suggested for future pruning and maintenance.

Another one bites the dust - unfortunately this Birch was showing signs of decline from Bronze Birch Borer and therefore needed to be removed due to its close proximity to the house. The homeowners are looking forward to planting a replacement once the stump is removed!
